Although the Duke of Windsor has never specifically used Windsor knots, he does like wide triangle knots. In fact, the Duke achieved his trend-setting appearance by tying four hands of cards with a special wide and thick tie. The Windsor knot was invented by the public to imitate the Duke’s knot style. There are several derivative products of Windsor Knot, and they are all denoted by the same name. Windsor knots provide symmetrical and solid triangular knots, which are best for unfolding collars. This knot has also been mistakenly called the “Double Windsor” knot.
